*** PURSUIT / ASSIST OTHER AGENCY *** On April 11, 2017, at approximately 1919 hours, Stillwater County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and request assistance with a vehicle that was failing to stop for their officers. Carbon County Sheriff’s Deputy J. Neibauer was on duty and responded to intercept the pursuit. As the vehicle approached the area of Butcher Creek Road on Highway 78 (West of Red Lodge), Dep. Neibauer successfully deployed a Stop Stick tire deflation system as the vehicle passed, which safely released air at a controlled rate from all four of the vehicles tires, causing the vehicle to stop a very short distance away. The subjects inside of the vehicle were immediately taken into custody and turned over the too the Stillwater County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation. The vehicle involved was reported as a stolen vehicle from the Billings Police Department.

Due to Dep. Neibauer’ s precision tire “spike”, this prevented the vehicle from entering more populated areas, including the Town of Red Lodge, and prevented the further danger of other motorists or civilians that it may have presented. There were no injuries reported with this incident.
